KATHMANDU: The Chairperson of Communist Party of Nepal Revolutionary Maoist Mohan Baidya has ruled out ever possibility of reunion with the CPN Maoist Centre.
Speaking at a press meet organised following the party’s State-level meeting in the Capital today, Baidya accused CPN MC’s leadership of already becoming opportunists, adding that unification with such force was never possible.“Do you see whom Prachanda party is hobnobbing with these days?” he questioned targeting CPN MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and party’s political closeness with other political parties.
Baidya, who was once considered an influential leader within the then UCPN Maoist, now CPN MC, decided to split away the party in 2012 to form the CPN Revolutionary Maoist.
He went to argue that the 10-year armed conflict failed to serve the people’s mandate and his party would launch a fresh people’s revolt to bring significant changes in the society.
According to him, the party has a plan to hold its national general convention in Pokhara on coming October 7, which would determine the party’s future course of action.
The party secretariat would decide whether to take part in the election.
Underlining the need of a new people’s revolution to ensure the transformation in the country, he insisted on the unity among all nationalists forces for so.
