बुधबार ,३ माघ ( काठमाडौँ ) सरकारले आज सात ओटै प्रदेश को अस्थाई मुकाम र प्रदेश प्रमुख तोकेको छ | बुधबार बसेको मन्त्रि परिसद को बैठक ले सात ओटै प्रदेश को अस्थाई मुकाम र प्रदेश प्रमुख तोकेको हो | जसमा प्रदेश १ को बिराटनगर ,२ को जनकपुर ,३ को हेटौडा र ४ को मुकाम पोखरा तोकेको छ | तेस्तै प्रदेश ५ को रुपन्देही ,६ को सुर्खेत तथा ७ को धनगढी तोकिएको छ |  पदेश प्रमुख मा प्रदेश १ मा डाक्टर गोविन्द सुब्बा ,२ मा रत्नेस्वोरलाल कायस्थ ,३ मा अनुराधा कोइराला, ४ मा बाबुराम कुँवर, ५ मा उमाकान्त झा ,६ मा दुर्गा प्रसाद खनाल र ७ मा मोहनराज मल्ल लाई निउक्त गर्ने सरकारले निर्णय गरेको छ |

पृथिवीराजमार्ग अन्तर्गत चितवनको फिस्लिंग बाट यात्रुबाहक बस त्रिसुली नदीमा खस्दा ८ जना को मृतु भएको छ | ६जनाको सब दुर्घटना लगतै निकालिएको हो भने १ जनालाई गोताखोरहरुले मृत अबस्थामा गाडी भित्रै बाट निकालिएको तथा अर्को १ जना को उपचारका लागि काठमाडौँ लैजादै गर्दा बाटोमै मृतु भएको प्रहरी ले जनाएको छ | मृतु हुनेमा रुपन्देही देवदह को दिपक पाण्डे ,अर्घाखाँची का नादुराज अधिकारी दैलेखका अम्बरबहादुर शाही ,र नवलपरासी बर्दघाट का कृष्ण ढकाल को सनाखत भएको छ | अरु ४ जना को भने सनाखत हुन सकेको छैन | दुर्घटनाग्रस्त बसबाट २३ जना यात्रु लाई घाइते अबस्थामा उद्धार गरिएको जनाइएको छ |घाइते  मद्दे केहीको चितवन मेडिकल कलेज भरतपुर तथा केहीको काठमाडौँ मा उपचार भैरहेको जनाइएको छ |बस काठमाडौँ बाट अर्घाखाँची जाद्दै गर्दा त्रिसुलीमा खसेको हो | ओवरटेक गर्ने करममा बिपरित दिशा बाट आएको ट्रक संग जुदेर बस खोलामा खसेको प्रतक्क्ष्य दर्सिले बताए |सशस्त्र प्रहरीको गोताखोरको टोलि ले बस पानीको सतह बाट ३० मिटर को गहिराइमा फेला परेको छ |

Nepal should benefit from China’s prosperity: Chinese envoy

KATHMANDU:  Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong has said that Nepal should reap benefits from the prosperity of China. Nepal could be benefited from China’s prosperity in various sectors including trade, investment and connectivity as Nepal has already joined China-proposed One Belt and One Road Initiatives (OBOR), she said.In a press meet organized on the occasion of 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Sino-Nepal Relations by Embassy of China in Kathmandu, the Chinese envoy shared that China was supporting Nepal on the basis of equal treatment, mutual cooperation and shared development framework. Election Commission reviews election security

KATHMANDU:  The Election Commission held a discussion and reviewed on the election security plan and entire peace and security situation in the wake of the Rukum and Rolpa incidents. The high level election security committee meeting held in the presence of Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav concluded that the security agencies were capable to provide security to the political leaders, candidates and voters. The security agencies shared security work plan and commitment at the meeting. CEC Dr Yadav told media persons that entire peace and security situation of 32 districts holding the elections to the State Assemblies and Provincial Parliaments was reviewed in the meeting. EC was confident of the smooth security as committed by the security agencies, he added. RPP withdraws candidacy to support NC in 145 constituencies

KATHMANDU:  Rastriya Prajatantra Party has withdrawn its candidates in 145 constituencies in the election of State Assemblies under the second phase elections to support Nepali Congress. The candidacy was withdrawn to support the Nepali Congress party. According to spokesperson, Sushil Kumar Shrestha, the office bearers’ meeting of the party today took a decision in this regard today.However, the meeting decided to continue with the party’s candidacy in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Salyan districts.

PM expresses sorrow over loss of many lives in Dhading bus accident

KATHMANDU:  Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended deep sorrow over the death of many people in a bus accident in Dhading Saturday morning. A bus (Na 6 Kha 1467) en route to Kathmandu from Rajbiraj in Saptari district skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River at around 5:00 am from the turning point at Ghatbesi in Gajuri Rural Municipality along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading district.In a message of condolence today, the Prime Minister said he was heartbroken by the news of the loss of many lives in the accident. He extended emotional tributes to the bereaved families and wished for speedy recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister has instructed the local administration, Nepal Police, Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force to intensify the search for those went missing in the incident. According to the police, the bus was carrying 55 passengers beyond its capacity at the time.

CNP urges not to agitate wild elephants

CHITWAN:  The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has urged the general public not to tease and agitate wild elephants coming to the human settlement during winter season. Generally the wild elephants entering the CNP from Parsa National Park via Thori and Madi have been creating troubles in the human settlements surrounding the CNP.According to Chief Conservation Officer at CNP Ramchandra Kandel, the wild tuskers enter the human settlements and damage crops only when it get agitated following chasing away by the locals. The elephants get agitated after people chase them with fire and other weapons, Kandel said and urged the locals not to irritate them in order to avoid damages to their own properties.

KATHMANDU:  Chhath — a festival of holiness, good will and faith — is being celebrated across the nation with fanfare. The festival is dedicated to the Sun God, with offerings made to the rising and setting sun. It is observed for four days, from Kartik Shukala Chaturthi to Kartik Shukla Saptami as per the lunar calendar.Issuing a statement today, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced to extend the public holiday even on Friday in course of the Chhath Puja. 22 persons hurt in Kanchanpur bus accident

DHANGADHI:  At least 22 persons have sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling on met with an accident at Kaluwapur of Shuklaphanta Municipality in Kanchanpur district on Wednesday. An ill-fated bus (Na 4 Kha 8039) was heading to Mahendranagar from Dadeldhura before it turned turtle along the East-West Highway in the district this afternoon. According to DSP Lalmani Joshi, the injfured have been undergoing treatment at the local hospitals in the district.

Energy Minister Thapa pledges to increase people’s access to electricity

HETAUDA:  Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Kamal Thapa, has pledged to ensure 35 per cent populations’ access to electricity in the country. Works were going on at the war-footing level through joint efforts of the Energy Ministry and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to provide electricity to the people who are still deprived of this facility, Thapa added.Addressing a programme organised by NEA regional office, Hetauda on Tuesday, Thapa said the government had already called on domestic and foreign investors to invest in energy sector. He viewed that completion of the under construction Kulekhani III project as soon as possible would help reduce the load-shedding from the country for a long term. KATHMANDU:  The government has decided to appoint Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi as the Chief Secretary. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Singha Durbar today promoted Home Secretary Regmi to the post of Chief Secretary. Now, he serves as the 24th chief secretary of the government. He was promoted to secretary four years ago in 2013. Incumbent Chief Secretary Rajendra Kishor Chhetri is retiring Tuesday due to age-limit. Talking to mediapersons following the meeting, Spokesperson for the government and Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet said the meeting also decided to install Shankar Prasad Adhikari to the post of Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. 41 women candidates for provincial and parliamentary polls

KATHMANDU:  A total of 41 women candidates are contesting in the first round of elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies, in 32 districts scheduled for November 26. Of them, 18 women are contesting in the House of Representatives and the rest in the State Assemblies. According to the Election Commission, a total of 323 members would be elected in the House of Representatives and 484 in the State Assemblies. As per the latest details received from the Joint Election Operation Centre, 103 women candidates from the Nepali Congress, 62 from the CPN-UML and 49 from the CPN-Maoist Centre have filed their candidacies. Indian national dies in jeep-bike collision

DAMAULI:  A 26-year-old Indian national died in a jeep-motorcycle collision in Myagde Rural Munucipality of Tanahun district on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Raju Jamad, a permanent resident of Allahabad in India.According to Tanahun District Police Office, Jamad was heading towards Pokhara from Damauli riding the motorcycle (Ga 12 Pa 2023) when the two-wheeler collided with the jeep (Na 2 Cha 1539) coming from the opposite direction at a turning. Seriously injured in the incident, Jamad was rushed to Damauli Hospital for treatment. He, however, breathed his last while receiving treatment, informed police. The body has been kept at the District Hospital for autopsy. Police have arrested the jeep driver for further investigation.

Bhaitika being marked throughout country today 11:51 AM AUSPICIOUS HOUR

KATHMANDU:  Bhaitika, the most important day of Tihar is being marked today. Hindu sisters throughout the country offer ‘tika’ to their brothers wishing them happiness, long life and prosperity on the occasion of Bhaitika. Bhaitika falls on the second lunar day of Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Kartik in Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar.The auspicious hour for offering the tika is at 11:51 am this year. However, it can be held until sunset, according to the Chairman of National Calendar Determination Committee Prof Dr Ramchandra Gautam. On this day, brothers are seated at a specially anointed place around which a trail of mustard oil is drawn. Sherpa climbers injured on Mt Lhotse, Manaslu; Hong Sung Taek sets up Camp IV

KATHMANDU:  At least three Sherpa climbers were taken ill on Mt Lhotse and Mt Manaslu as renowned South Korean climber Sung Taek Hong (51) fixed Camp IV for the toughest Mt Lhotse South Face expedition, expedition organisers have said. According to Temba Tsheri Sherpa, Managing Director at Sherpa Khangri Outdoor, a rescue team has been sent to Mt Manaslu to evacuate Lakpa Tsheri Sherpa who was injured near Camp IV while descending from the summit of the world’s eighth highest peak.“Lakpa Tsheri complained of illness when he along with Nima Gyalzen Sherpa and a Chinese climber was returning from the summit,” he said adding that they scaled the peak  on Thursday .                                                                               Mingma Sherpa, Operations Chief at Heli Everest, said that he along with rescue team flew to Manaslu region   on Friday   morning to evacuate the climbers. Meteor shower to occur tonight

KATHMANDU:  The Orionid meteor shower caused by the Halley’s comet will be visible from tonight until Saturday morning. This meteor shower has been called the Orionid meteor shower as its source appears to be the Orion constellation. Since the time of the meteor shower is in the First Quarter Moon in the month of October, it will be visible from tonight.The meteor shower can be seen from 10 pm today till 4.45 am on Saturday, said Suresh Bhattarai, president of Nepal Astronomical Society. He said the time after 12.45 am is best for viewing the meteor shower. It is estimated that up to 20 meteors per hour can be seen when the meteor shower is at its peak. According to Bhattarai, this spectacle in the night sky is seen as the meteors dropping at high speed enter the Earth’s atmosphere. The speed of the meteors can be up to 67 kilometres per second.
